Install it in three steps

    Download the disk image

    The button above gives you PelionPosture-0.1.1.dmg — 16.4 MB. Your browser may ask you to confirm the download.

    Drag PelionPosture into Applications

    Open the disk image and drag the app onto the Applications shortcut inside it. You can then eject the disk image; the app installs as PelionPosture.app.

    Open it, and allow the camera once

    The first launch asks macOS for camera access — Pelion cannot estimate anything without seeing you. Onboarding then walks you through a ten-second calibration, and the app settles into your menu bar.

How to check what you downloaded

Signed and notarized by Apple

Distributed with a Developer ID Application certificate issued to Shiyu Zhou (Team ID 2Q3F4348PB), with a notarization ticket from Apple stapled to the disk image. Gatekeeper opens it without warnings.

What Pelion asks for

Three separate permissions, asked at three different moments. Only the first is required.

Camera — required

Asked for on first launch, and only then. Frames are analysed on your Mac and discarded; nothing is recorded or uploaded. If you decline, Pelion simply waits — you can grant it later in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Notifications — optional, off by default

Pelion only asks macOS for notification permission if you turn on system notifications in Settings. Left off, the menu-bar number is the only thing that ever speaks.

Launch at login — optional, off by default

A single switch in Settings registers Pelion to start with your Mac. It is off until you turn it on, and turning it back off unregisters it.

If something goes wrong

macOS says the app can't be opened

This build is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper should open it without warnings. If you see a warning, you most likely have an older unsigned copy: check that the app in your Applications folder is PelionPosture.app, delete any other Pelion copy, and reinstall from the disk image above.

I declined the camera prompt and now nothing happens

Pelion waits rather than nagging. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and switch Pelion Posture on, then restart the app. Numbers resume from your existing baseline.

The numbers say "can't see you clearly"

That is the honest-unknown state, not an error: the room is too dark, or your head and shoulders are out of frame. Add a little light or sit back so you are centred, and the reading picks up on its own. Pelion holds the last numbers rather than guessing.

Another app is using the camera

Only one app can hold the camera at a time. Quit the other app and Pelion picks the camera back up within about thirty seconds; the numbers hold until it does.

How do I remove it completely?

Quit Pelion from the menu bar, then drag PelionPosture.app to the Trash. To erase your data first, use Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete all data, which removes the baseline, history, statistics and the local analytics log.
