About Pelion Posture

What we are building

Pelion Posture is a Mac app that makes posture feedback concrete with a relative estimated neck-load number. Real-time monitoring is free all day, camera analysis runs on the Mac, and an optional local MCP server lets compatible AI clients read derived posture context.

Why we built it

Posture feedback is easier to act on when it is concrete. Pelion turns a relative posture estimate into a visible neck-load number while keeping the camera analysis on the Mac.

Pelion is not designed to declare one perfect posture or diagnose the cause of pain. It learns an upright baseline, estimates how the visible forward angle changes relative load, and gives you feedback while you work. The useful question is not “am I sitting perfectly?” but “what changed, and can I make the next position easier?”

Monitoring time is deliberately not the paywall. The free app can run all day with no daily limit. Pelion Pro is a separate Guard and Recovery layer that is not open yet; it does not unlock additional monitoring time.

Four product principles

Make feedback understandable

A reminder to sit up is easy to dismiss. Pelion shows a relative estimated neck-load number so the change is visible, while stating clearly that the number is not a clinical measurement.

Keep the camera boundary local

Camera frames are analysed on the device and are not uploaded by Pelion. Local MCP access is optional, off by default and does not expose camera images.

Show the evidence and the gaps

Product claims are checked against the shipped app and MCP contract. Research claims link to their sources, estimates are labelled as estimates, and missing clinical review is disclosed instead of implied.

Let local tools read context safely

The bundled MCP server uses stdio, opens no listening port and is off by default. It exposes derived context, not camera images.

Product facts, not promises

These are the facts the website, download and structured data share. If the shipped product changes, the facts change first and every page is checked against them.

How claims are checked

Product facts are checked against the downloadable artifact, app source and MCP contract. The MCP page is tested against a captured transcript from the shipped server. The download page publishes the exact filename and SHA-256 so the bytes can be checked independently.

Health and ergonomics pages link to their sources and distinguish association from causation. When qualified clinical review has not happened, the page says so. A name, credential, review, rating or endorsement is never inferred from a repository, a code signature or a private conversation.

Comparisons use the other product's own public pages and carry a last-checked date. If a claim cannot be verified, it is omitted rather than filled with an assumption.

Publisher and official links

Pelion Posture is published by the Pelion team. No individual founder or clinical-review credential is claimed here because none has been supplied for public use. The current downloadable app carries a verifiable Apple Developer ID signature; that signature identifies the artifact signer, not an editorial or medical role.
